Sheril Ann Gooden, born October 25th, 1962 in Saint Thomas, Jamaica West Indies, was a beloved woman, mother, sister, and friend.  From a young age Sheril was smart, responsible, and reliable.  She was also well known and well-liked by members of the local community.  She passed her high school entrance exam and enrolled herself in Morant Bay High School where she developed an interest in dentistry.  In 1984 She moved to New York City, and was determined to continue her education in dentistry.  She enrolled in Hostos Community College, where she graduated as a dental hygienist.  Through all life’s accomplishments, Sheril’s greatest joy in life was being a mother to her only child, Sheena.  She was determined to give her the opportunities she never had and worked hard to provide for Sheena.   She moved from the Bronx to Manhattan to support her daughter’s passion for the arts which included ballet and music.  She did all of this while continuing to work as a Dental Hygienist where colleagues and patients developed relationships with her that lasted for several decades.  Some of whom became like family.

**I drove up to NYC on Saturday and surprised Sheena with a shirt at her Birthday party.**

Words from Sheena: "For 11 months I stood by my beautiful mother, Sheril Ann Gooden, as she battled Breast Cancer.  Her Diagnosis rocked the core of my family, and I could do was be strong by her side.  So Many nights I cried in fear and frustration, and I prayed she would find peace with God.  And Now the matriarch of my family, the person I owe my whole life to has become my angel.  Friday, march 1st my mother walked into the arms of God and her mother, and I will miss her forever.  her strength will live within me." - Sheena Jezselle Gooden

I Matter x Life Matters | (Sherils Legacy)

The I Matter x Life Matters tee was created to help raise awareness for suicide prevention, as well ass fight the stigma against mental health.  This time we put a spin on it, to also support Breast Cancer awareness.  The shirt features a quote from a dear friends mother who battled breast cancer.

Life's a Beach:

The week has been a long one.  One that drains you both mentally and physically.  Feeling completely out of it, Mason cops a squat on  the couch and throws on the TV in an attempt to decompress.  It’s not working.  He then tries to take a nap, but his brain is still racing from everything that has been built up in his head over the past week.  He turns to his phone and begins to browse social media in hopes of seeing something that would help change his mood, but nothing sparks his interest.  His mental health is all over the place and he just wants to relax.  He then think’s why not venture out to the beach and relax on the sand with the sound of the waves.  Mason grabs his phone and sends a message out to the group chat,  “The beach bums are overdue for beach hangs.  Let’s hit the Beach Club this weekend like old times!”  Everyone replies with excitement and they plan to meet on Sunday for brunch and a day at the beach.

The stage is set: perfect weather, good people, good vibes, and a wide-open beach.  From cornhole, to football, to just relaxing by the water with a few drinks, Mason could feel the weight of the work week freeing from his shoulders.  His mind was clear, his heart filled with love from the friends who came together for a fun weekend, and for once in the past 7 days, he felt mentally free from any and all stress.

It was in this moment he realized the importance of the beach club.  That no matter what was on his mind, no matter how he felt, no matter the stress, the beach club is a place to come and be free.  A place where you can be yourself.  A place where you will not be judged.  Life’s a beach, and the beach club is a place where others can relate and want the best for one another, regardless of who you are or where you come from.

On July 14th @ 1:00pm, the Circa 7 Beach Club will release its official Beach Club and Beach Bum merchandise.  The collection includes women’s and men’s Beach Club x Beach Bum t-shirts along with women’s and men’s Beach Club x Beach Bum lightweight hoodies.  Accompanying the collection will be beach towels, beach blankets, and beach tote bags.  This is the start of our club merchandise lines and the first time we’ve offered clothing specifically for women outside of our unisex items.  We have been working on this for over a year and cannot wait for you all to experience the Circa 7 Beach Club.
